International MSME Day 2019 was celebrated in Rajshahi with great enthusiasm. On this occasion, the two-day-long Oikko SME Fair was inaugurated.
The fair was organized at Green Plaza in the city on Thursday.
At the inauguration, renowned media and SME development official, Chairman of Oikko Foundation Apu Mahfuz delivered the welcome speech while Oikko President Shahin Akhtar Rainy addressed the keynote and carried out the ‘Oikko Rajshahi Declaration’.
The Oikko Rajshahi Declaration concludes: From today, every SME entrepreneur in Rajshahi can showcase their products on www.oikko.com.bd free of cost for sale at home or abroad.

The first divisional outlet of 3000 sqft Oikko Store is about to be established in Rajshahi, which would only display products of SME entrepreneurs.
Also, sales activities of Oikko’s state-of-the-art digital experience store in every Upazila of Rajshahi district have been inaugurated.
At the ceremony, Rajshahi City Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton in his speech said, Oikko’s activities with SME entrepreneurs all across the country for the last six years have been making the entrepreneurs stronger. The way the products of SME entrepreneurs are taking their place at Oikko Store and Oikko Online Market, it is strengthening their small and medium enterprises. Women empowerment and employment generation works of Oikko especially prove they are aligned with the honorable Prime Minister’s aim of building a strong Bangladesh.
To support SME entrepreneurs, Central Bank’s Rajshahi Chief Manoj Kumar Bishwas, Police Deputy Commissioner Amir Zafar, and Additional District Magistrate Md Nazrul Islam were also present on the occasion.
At the fair, SME entrepreneurs organizations and their chiefs: Jonaki Haque of BDCCI, Moniruzzaman Monir of RCCI, Rozity Naznin of RWCCI, Anjuman Ar Parvin of WEB, Morzina Parvin of National Women Organisation, and Shabnam Shirin of Women Affairs Department were honored.
