BSCIC, Oikko Foundation sign MoU
To market the entrepreneurs’ products online, BSCIC and Oikko Foundation will work together.
In this regard, Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) and Oikko Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding to market the products of entrepreneurs through the online marketing platform Oikko Store amid the coronavirus pandemic.
On Thursday, at BSCIC conference hall, BSCIC Secretary Mostak Ahmed and Oikko Foundation’s Chairman Apu Mahfuz signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
BSCIC and Oikko Foundation will work together in promoting and publicising BSCIC’s activities including marketing and holding seminars, workshops and round table discussions for cottage, micro, small and medium entrepreneurs and their products. Now, to promote and publicise BSCIC’s operations, Oikko Foundation’s media partner Channel i will provide utmost support.
On the occasion, BSCIC Chairman said, “Following this agreement between BSCIC and Oikko Foundation, entrepreneurs will be able to market their products online. They will be able to recover from the losses incurred due to this coronavirus pandemic to some extent by marketing their products through Oikko Foundation’s online marketing platform Oikko Store.”
At the biggest SME online market www.oikko.com.bd working towards the development of the country’s SME entrepreneurs, consumers will find products from the 76 industrial cities and 64 districts under BSCIC soon.
It may be noted here, earlier on Channel i’s special live programme, “BSCIC and Oikko together to provide products online” activity was inaugurated. Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun MP, Minister of Industries; Atiqul Islam, Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation; Shahina Akter Reni, President of Oikko Foundation; and Md Mustaq Hasan, Chairman, BSCIC; delivered the inauguration speech.
Dr Md Abdus Salam, Director, Skills and Technology; Shwapan Kumar Ghosh, Director, Finance; Md Khalilur Rahman, Director, Industry Development and Extension; and Md Alamgir Hossain, Director, Marketing, Design and Craft; also spoke at the signing ceremony.
Among others, Nepal Chandra Karmakar, Deputy Secretary, Minister of Industries; Dr Golam Md Faruk, Director, Planning and Research; Akhil Ranjan Tarafdar, General Manager, Marketing; and other high officials from BSCIC were present at the event.
